I use Solution Focused Hypnotherapy (SFH) in our work together, which is a type of talking therapy. We focus on solutions – the solutions that you want – right from the start, rather than specifically looking for the roots of problems. We acknowledge and respect your past, and how it might have influenced who you are now, in a way that can help you move forward in your life.
Together, we have the common aim of working towards a new future, combining reassuring psychotherapy and hypnosis in SFH.
Hypnosis (also known as trance) is a very natural, relaxing state. In fact, we go into trance many times a day, for example, times when we are very relaxed, like when we’re day dreaming, going for a run, watching TV, or doing the gardening.
The hypnosis part in SFH sessions is achieved by using guided relaxation, where the mind can relax and respond to thoughts and suggestions that might be useful in influencing your intended new future.
As a modern psychotherapeutic approach, SFH uses practical, structured, and well-researched strategies to help people make significant, positive changes in their lives in a relatively short period of time.
